The story of how JT began is truly a love story. It is the love of fashion, a love of beautiful things and the lasting love of good friends. Which all led to the love of bags. Jeff and Tony (the "J" and "T") met each other at FIT 18 years ago. They worked in fashion for Geoffrey Beene (while Alber Elbaz was there), Michael Kors and Giorgio Armani so they know their stuff. They continue to draw inspiration from Alber Elbaz, Lanvin is their favorite designer. It has been 2 years in the making and after a lifetime of work in fashion, it has lead them to their own line of what can only appropriately be called, couture bags. It is beyond luxury, or what the word luxury has come to mean (which is almost nothing). Jeff and Tony moved to Florence, Italy 2 years ago to start a design studio (where they made bags for Armani Couture among others, one made was a corded crocodile, made from 18 pieces of skin but amounted to one very tiny clutch). While they sourced the best tanneries and factories for other labels, they were in fact doing research for their own line, slowly amassing resources and talent until they were sure they had all the perfect pieces in place for their own masterpiece.

BOYY accessories is the partnered creation of Jesse Dorsey and Wannasiri Kongman. Jesse Dorsey was born in Montreal, Canada, has been a musician/producer/composer for most of his life. From working with artists such as the Beastie Boys and Milla Jovovich to scoring music for Cirque di Soleil, having his own personal music featured in award wining films and DJing New York City's hot spots, Jesse has gained much exposure to the world of entertainment, music and fashion has simultaneously absorbed it all like a sponge.
Wannasiri Kongman born and raise in bangkok, Thailand, modeled in her teen years and appeared on television in a handful of cameo appearances. After receiving a degree in journalism at Bangkok University at age twenty, she began working as a buyer for first ever marketing project for teens called Zeen Zone, for one of Thailand's top department stores, "Central". Her undying love and interest for fashion later brought her to FIT "fashion institute of technology" in New York city where she studies fashion design.
Jesse and Wannasiri met in NYC in 2004 and in 2005 they started collaborating. The two exercised their ideas, philosophies and mission for 6 months before launching BOYY's first collection for the Spring Summer 06 season.

very cute! i love the leathers, and the chalk like painting on the bag. and the fact that i love to draw with charcoal myself, made this bag looks more and more interesting to me.
Ellen Eichel began her artistic career in 1987 after developing her own unique process for creating intricate detailed imagery on silk. The creative possibilities for using this technique were endless however the ultimate experience for her became creating hand painted couture clothing. After several years of working on her own, Ellen was joined by her daughter-in-law Dianne and the two founded E.D.E. Studio in1997. After 10 years of dealing with the intensity of the silk painting process, both became burnt out and decided that the creative focus of E.D.E. had to change.
Driven by the quest to discover a new outlet for their creativity, a previously purchased piece of suede became the impetus for designing a new product: an amazing shoulder bag. Creating handbags provided the complete sense of artistic freedom they had been searching for. The focus of the company quickly switched from clothing to bags and the pair was soon joined by Ellen's daughter Millicent, who now has her own leather accessory line M.Design.Although E.D.E. handbags can no longer be made out of Ellen's downtown New York City studio as they once were, E.D.E. is proud to say that all the handbags continue to be made to order right here in NYC, USA.

Through a license signed in October with New York-based accessories maker Mondani Corp., the firm will launch designer bags under the Bill Blass Couture label and Bill Blass Collection handbags, for the better market. Blass women's creative director Peter Som and Mondani's team of designers created the collections.
"Bill Blass is a heritage brand and in America there are so few heritage brands that are still here," Som said. "There's such a legacy and so much meat to what Blass is about. We're just at the tip of the iceberg."
There have been discussions about opening Bill Blass stores, he said, declining to elaborate.
"The inspiration of these started from thinking about the Blass woman," Som said. "I wanted to design bags that were crisp and clean and had a sense of easy luxury about them."
The Couture collection of handbags incorporates exotic skins such as alligator, crocodile, stingray, python and ostrich. Manufactured in Italy, the bags range in retail price from $1,800 to $18,000 and will arrive at stores in August.
Several Couture bag styles, including an oversize clutch, were shown on the runway in February. This line includes self-frame satchels and evening cases.
"I wanted them to be really luxurious, timeless bags," Som said. "The ultimate model is Hermès, whose bags are coveted for decades."
There also is minimal hardware on the bags, so they don't appear dated.
The Collection handbags will retail from $500 to $2,500 and are made with Italian materials such as embossed leather, lambskin, patent leather and metallic goatskin. Styles take inspiration from the Couture collection, such as a tall shoulder bag with self-frame closure and a patent leather clutch.
Blass, which is owned by NexCen Brands Inc., also licenses shoes, eyewear and fur.
"Handbags will have an extremely important role in defining and communicating the Bill Blass image," said Robert D'Loren, president and chief executive officer of NexCen. "This has evolved into an aspirational product category with heightened consumer visibility. By working closely with Peter Som, Mondani Corp. has done an outstanding job of executing a premier quality handbag collection with the exquisite level of detail that defines the Bill Blass brand."
The bags will be shown during market next month.

Loyd Maish
Melissa Loyd Maish started her own collection after leaving her position as creative director for Bally. She has designed for many other designer brands including Sergio Rossi, Jil Sander and Salvatore Ferragamo.
She joined her partner Matteo Balatresi who created and distributed accessories as well as development and production for many of the same brands.
Their atelier is based in Florence and they share their farm house in Tuscany with babies Bia, Ellery, dogs, cats and donkeys.
